Literacy Volunteers of Santa Fe (LVSF) is a non-profit organization established in 1985. Because of the great demand for literacy services in the area, the program has grown to support the work of more than 150 volunteer tutors working with more than 800 students annually. 2005 marked the 20th anniversary of literacy education in Santa Fe. September 24, 2005, a day proclaimed Literacy Education Day for all of New Mexico, was also the day that a gala benefit was held at the Scottish Rite Temple. 20 authors participated from as far away as Ireland.
